Vitamin B6 and B12 have countless positive properties. However, due to our sometimes dynamic daily routine, we cannot absorb enough of these vitamins. Vegans and vegetarians in particular should make sure they get enough vitamin B6 and vitamin B12.
Why does your body need vitamin B6?
Vitamin B6 regulates central processes in your body and is one of the most important coenzymes in the amino acid metabolism. Vitamin B6 is used to form messenger substances in the nerves and is involved in fat metabolism. It also influences your hormone activity and your immune system.
A lack of vitamin B6 can lead to rashes, anemia, mouth sores, vomiting and cramps. Long-term malnutrition can even lead to nerve disorders.
Why does your body need vitamin B12?
Vitamin B12 is an important component for blood formation, cell division and normal nerve function. Vitamin B12 is not a single vitamin, but a combination of different vitamins. Also called cobalamins.
Vitamin B12 plays an important role in the metabolism of folic acid and thus contributes to blood formation. Adequate intake of vitamin B12 helps reduce tiredness and fatigue.
